Oh no, pop music heresy lol. Michael's credited with being the more talented performer over all, and he's a huge influence (2020s K-pop, anyone?) but I have to admit that I'd rather listen to Janet too, OP. I still play her all the time.

As a body of work, yeah, definitely Janet. As more influential, definitely Michael. But he descended into peddling bloated, overdone crap while she kept innovating.

As a Janet fan, I'm not going to pretend that my agreement isn't biased. I know MJ has done a lot for pop music/pop culture, but people really don't give Janet her dues for being The Blueprint for female pop stars, especially for someone stepping out of the shadows of other contemporaries and giving her own personal touches to the various eras her albums she's released.
