Do you have recurring dreams?

Not generally. The only recurring dream I can think of is the one where I'm starting a new school year and I'm determined to stay on top of things this time, and then somehow I forget all of my assignments and there's at least one class I haven't even attended in months. I've definitely had that dream six or eight times over the years.

Same, but for me I never have my class schedule and I always have various difficulties getting it from the registrar (long lines, it's snowing in the building, they're all out to lunch at seven in the morning, etc etc.) and I never remember which classes I have or where they are.

Haha, yeah, this is often the case for me, too. As the dream goes on I inevitably get more and more lost about what I'm supposed to be doing. At first I usually just forget to actually GO to class/do the work, but then by the end I'm like, "Uhh, which classes? Where?"

I have that exact dream. Sometimes it's a job instead of school, but the rest is the same.

Yes, very much so. I have fandom-related dreams that are often interconnected and also often repeat. I'm usually aware I'm dreaming, though.

A few - my mother has a lot. For me, there's the building (often a school or mansion) with a massive tree growing on top, the roots winding through and around it. When I get through the building to the base of the tree, I can slide down the roots and just before I decide to, I always know it's going to be an incredible experience but that I'll wake when I get to the bottom.

Then there's the "flying" dreams, which are more like gliding ones. I jump and I can glide forward - most of the time it's a dream where I'm walking a lot and I guess my subconscious doesn't want me to worry about my feet hurting!

I have gliding dreams too, though I don't have hurting feet. It's like I just feel like I don't wanna walk and that's a logical alternative. It's nice. Sometimes it's because there's a vintage car coming at me down a long straight avenue of trees and I just levitate gracefully out of the way.

Yup. Complex ptsd is a bitch like that.

Not per se, but I have a lot of dreams with similar structures - usually ones where I am late for something and have to get there by a certain time but countless obstacles keep getting in my way

So, are you late, late,
For a very important date?

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

Not exactly but kind of.
At some point in the not-so-distant past my recurring dream involved losing my clothes. Every dream I was either being chased or losing clothes or both lol.
But usually no, although there are some places that only exist in my dreams (usually mix-and-matches of real life places I have been to ... ) and I keep dreaming of them even 10, 20 years later.

Yes. But all I have is nightmares so it isn't fun. I also have a lot of the same themes. Mostly being chased. But then sometimes I have really, really, really fucked up ones that linger with me for days. Once had a nightmare as a kid that scared me so much, I didn't go outside for several days.

Same, the only recurring ones are nightmares.
At least I've gotten better at recognizing them early enough to wake myself up before they get to the scary parts. But yeah, definitely not fun.

yeah, pretty frequently. they tend to be very weird.

I used to dream about a person crying. Just me in an empty building and hearing someone crying, but being unable to find them.

I have two that happen with any frequency.

The first is me getting ready to get on a flight, I can't find everything despite the fact that irl I'd be prepared 2 days beforehand, I'm still somehow packing and then it switches to the airport and I get on despite having no passport, then I'm on the plane it's alway bigger than any plane can be with like pools and shopping areas inside. And then towards the end when we're almost where we need to be it starts falling from the sky. I always wake up before it crashes but I tend to have the swooping senstation that you get when you drop on rollar coasters for a few seconds after waking.

The other is me being chased through multiple layers of dreams by my night hag demon. She's not nice to me and if she catches me I wake up shaking and crying.

I used to have a ton of recurring dreams: teeth falling out, danger is coming but I can't run, I'm under dressed/half naked at a public place, there's a tall man standing by my bed and if he knows I'm awake and can see him I will die horribly.

These mostly* went away when I started a new anti-depressant. Now my dreams are really weird and *don't* leave me feeling sad/scared/unsettled and that's really neat. There haven't been any new patterns yet.

(*The tall man dream went away when I took down a large round lantern that hung above my bed. Go figure <3)

Honest question, what is your new anti-depressant? Because this sounds an awful lot like my dreams, and I probably should be taking an anti-depressant but I had no luck with any of my prescriptions and I kind of want to know if I have already tried yours.

Not in awhile, but I used to have them a bunch when I was younger.

When I was a kid, we used to go to the science museum all the time, and I had frequent dreams about there being secret rooms in it that contained a haunted house. I also had recurring dreams about the haunted house they had at the zoo during Halloween season. I was a weird kid, lol.

I also had a recurring dream that this lake at a local park had an "island" that was attached to a mechanical arm under the water, and they could raise/lower the island whenever they wanted. I'm pretty sure such a thing doesn't exist anywhere, but it definitely didn't exist at that park.

Oh yeah man, definitely. There's a dream or two in which
1. I'm in a place I've never been before except for another dream
2. I'm meeting again with a person I've only ever met in dreams.

It's so strange but cool!

I don't have so much of a recurring dream, but a recurring dream setting. Every so often I find myself in this city, usually in a different place each time (so far I've been to the university, the park, the old town, the school, the seaport, the supermarket, the laboratories), but I know my way around well enough by now that I can easily get back to areas that I've been in the previous dreams.

Yes
1) dream where I try to get home but the elevator gets all weird and stairs are missing and I just. Can't. Get. Home. It's not a nightmare though it's just frustrating. But I do have phobia of elevators.
2) dream where I am scream at someone non-stop just being absolutely hysterical. Yeaaaahh

At least I don't often remember my dreams
