Probably the danger of regretting a permanent body modification like tattoos (yeah, they can be deleted, but the scar remains) to broadcast your love for something external to yourself, like fandom.
Your favorite media will change over time, your favorite band in middle or high school will probably not be your favorite band when you're 30 or 40 years old and you could even change your taste in music drastically and never listen to the band you've tattooed on yourself for the rest of tour life.
The same can be said for other media, too.

Of course NOT ALL PEOPLE!!! and a lot of people are very happy about their fandom tattos, but it can happen. Hence, the danger.

Not to mention that getting a tattoo removed is (according to friends who have done it) an incredibly painful process, so if you decide you don't want it anymore, getting rid of it really sucks.
