I wouldn't want to see it in modern-set stories. But I'm usually reading fantasy stuff, so it makes sense there to me.

AYRT--all the fandoms I read fic for are fantasy, historical, or both, and I am very glad I've never seen stones used as a euphemism in any of them. As an oath/swearword meaning testicles, sometimes, but not in smut fic.
