For penis, "cock" is easily my favorite, but "dick" can often work too. These are the staples, IMO, but honestly I'm pretty chill with words for penis. "Erection" is usually good. "Hardness" often works, as does "length." "Shaft" and "member" are iffier, but honestly I'm usually fine with them. And a bit of smutty synecdoche is also a useful tool -- i.e. "He jerked himself urgently, desperate for relief."

For testicles, I'm fine with "balls," and sometimes "nuts." I think that's about it.


"Breasts" is my preferred word for, well, breasts, but "tits" can be good too, it just depends on the characters. There are some characters for whom I think "tits" would feel a bit crass. It can also often work well to just talk about the nipples with the rest of the breast just being implied. And it can sometimes work to use synecdoche if the writing is clear enough-- i.e "He cupped her through the thin fabric of her shirt."

I'm not the OP of secret 8, but I agree with the OP that "boobs" is very unsexy. I just find it way too tween-age.


Unfortunately I tend to find the standard words for "vagina" off-putting. "Cunt" is a bit too harsh (plus as a North American it comes with some baggage), and "pussy" just reflexively makes me think of all the objectifying het male porn that is so blatantly Not For Me. Neither one is a deal-breaker for me, I mean writers have to call ladyparts something and I don't think it's reasonable to expect them to just vague their way around it for every scene. But neither term does anything for me, that's for sure.

"Folds" can be okay, as can "passage." "Inside her" is often good, and also vague terms like "between her legs" or "where she was slick and aching." Then there's stuff like, "He thrust himself home," or "She sank down, impaling herself in one blissful thrust," which don't require specific terms at all.

So I do think there are a lot of ways of vaguing around it that work pretty well.

All that said, I don't really read/write femslash and I basically have no opinion wrt what works best/is hottest for F/F smut. I respect it, but I have very little practical knowledge of it, and therefore no opinion. That's all I can really say on that.
