I was nodding vigorously for the first paragraph. Then I got to the second paragraph and our tastes diverged dramatically!

I'm not a big fan of foreplay in smut*, and zero-to-fucking can often be some of the hottest smut for me. I love that vibe where the characters are just so horny they need to fuck NOW RIGHT NOW. And even though in real life PIV/A sex is obviously not some kind of be-all-end-all, in fiction PIV/A sex just does so much more for me, and feels so much hornier to me. Whereas conceptually, oral often feels like a bit more of a "higher brain function" type situation; a bit less desperate and immediate and, like, animal.

*I like a lot of the elements of foreplay well enough, but I vastly prefer them when they aren't treated as foreplay. Like, "I'm going to impulsively drop to my knees, blow you against the front door, and accidentally come against your leg," is really hot to me, but as soon as it's framed as foreplay it tends to get boring to me. Of course, if it's not pre-established that the bottom can be good to go in a hot second, then I generally do want some element of foreplay, mainly to establish that the top cares about making it good for the bottom.

But the foreplay part of a smut scene can lose narrative tension and get boring to me extremely easily, so it's really all about what the writer does to sustain a sense of tension and horniness throughout.

I almost never wank over oral or manual. *shrugs* It just doesn't do it for me the way PIV/A does. So yes, humping. Love me some filthy, urgent, horny-out-of-their-minds humping. And occasionally dry humping--also very hot IMO.
