Not included in the '98 version that I am aware of (and it's been just as long since I read the manga) but in the reboot in episode 11 Knives 'links' to Vash to wipe his memories and impregnate the other plants as Vash is the only Independent plant who can connect to the higher plane and birth more Independents.

Okay. I was never into Trigun (my sister watched it though). They are plants? I thought this was like...an anime cowboy show.

Yes and no lol. Quick and dirty is that Vash and his brother ("brother"?) Nai are part of something called Project Seeds which was a colonization project sent from Earth blah blah blah humans along with power sources called 'plants'. Vash and Nai are basically plants that look human have independent thoughts so they're Independents.

Nai doesn't want their 'siblings' to be used as slaves for power (like hydro power not control power) so he crashes the whole group of ships on purpose but obviously some plants and humans survive.

Vash is basically pro human despite the fact that he has a bounty on his head (thanks to Nai destroying shit and them being twins) and Nai is the abusive brother who wants to "save" Vash and the plants by murdering the whole planet and all the humans on it.

NAYRT - Dude. You just said a lot of things.

I honestly kind of love how deranged this sounds. NGL, animated isn't really my medium, so I will probably never watch this. But it's in my head now, so you never know!
