That tracks. My school insisted I was the problem rather than my bullies and just told me to avoid them. It wasn’t until one incident where I got the HBIC in trouble that it was taken seriously.

My school did the whole "maybe you just misunderstood them" or ",just ignore them" usually. Hell I even got "maybe those boys have a crush on you" (to which I wanted to say "no pretty sure they just don't see me as a human being, ma'am")

Or they were just completely toothless in their discipline band did eff all. When a prank nearly got me in trouble and teachers whole reputation and job risked they just told me "stay quiet about it and hope they reveal themselves "

I'm sorry but what did my parents even pay taxes for?

Before that they had to struggle with getting me in a class that actually taught me for a while.

Edit : sorry i don't mean to come across "here's everything that happened to me". Telling a kid they're the problem or deserve it is really bad .
A lot of the adults where I was just sorta were kinda useless and clueless.

I was bullied really badly and it was my parents who pulled that crap. For some reason they were convinced that a. there were a lot fewer bullies than there actually were and b. that I was following the inbred little shits around; don't ask me where they got that idea!

I know that feel , wanting to just avoid the hell out of my classmates. Tis why I spent my lunches in the library.

Tho not excusing anything but I was an absolute oddball even at 12 the grade. But when you have a 12 or 11 year old stuck in the body of an 18/19 year old.

yeah, I had physical problems as well as being weird. Mercifully nobody from school has any idea where I am now.
