I do this too, OP, but not as strictly. I have separate IDs for a few different fandoms. I wanted to see at first if people liked my stuff because I did well in my first few fandoms -- whether it was the writing or me. Like Richard Bachman stuff. I did RPF with yet another name, really kinky stuff with another one, Yuletide with a fourth.

I forget the usernames too.

Thank you, OP, for helping me continue to believe that all the people who pop up, write the best fic I have ever seen apparently with no practice or previous work, and disappear again, are all actually the same person and there aren't dozens of mystery people who are way better than me without even trying and don't care.

Me too OP. I usually have one, maximum two fics in me per fandom, but they are of epic length and intensity. I also disappear for years in between.
