I used to be a member of a Mary Sue sporking comm back in LJ as a teen. Back then I thought it was fun and good for the fandom, but looking back it was really just a form of cyberbullying. This was especially evident when some of the "suethors", as they were called, found out and got made fun of for being upset about their fics being mercilessly nitpicked. Those were all young teens too.
Honestly, these comms probably did more harm than any suefic ever could.
