like music that has a hook to it, and they're to...droney and experimental to me

OP - Yup, I totally feel this. I can occasionally be won over by something more ambient and atmospheric, but the song has an uphill battle if it's going to click with me. Generally I don't need to be able to dance to a song necessarily (though dance-y songs are always welcome in the library), but I prefer if I enjoy the lyrics, and also if the song has some momentum to it.

My Radiohead lineup consists of Fake Plastic Trees, Creep, High And Dry, Talk Show Host, and Hearing Damage. That last one isn't actually Radiohead but it is Thom Yorke, so I say close enough.

You seem like someone who might enjoy In Rainbows and tracks off of it like "House of Cards" (I do too).
