Add conspiracy to the list of plot lines they've hammered into the ground, along with The Borg, Time Travel, The Mirror Universe, and space battles.

Star Trek works best when it is a tight episode with the crew just working a problem. It doesn't need any big grandiose plots or a badguy, just have them work to overcome a problem in front of them.
