(Anonymous) 2023-04-16 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)I think a lot of it has to do with the notion that Jeopardy is seen as a thinking person's game show. Some viewers like to see the host's display a more cerebral attitude. This includes a drier wit and more gravitas in their posture.
(Personally, I'm actually not at all happy that Mayim has any hosting work given her history of antivaxx statements. For a show that involves some level of quick logical processing to reach the right answer, her stance feels antithetical to the show.)
