And I like reading WIPs. Even though it would of course be great for everything I like to have an ending, satisfying or otherwise, I’m open to the possibility that some won’t. And it doesn’t ruin the story for me. I appreciate the WIP the way it is even if it gets abandoned.
I’m a rarepair shipper, and someone who’s been in so many small and old/dying fandoms. So I’ve been used to taking what I can get for a long time. And I feel that that’s part of what’s left me with the appreciation for ongoing stories that may not have endings. It will still be a little sad though, obviously.
I still understand why others may not share my feelings and experiences with WIPs though. And people like ayrt have completely legitimate reasons for avoiding them.
