Awww! What a cute secret. I'm glad you're liking it!
My mother absolutely adores it and now prefers it to the original show.
I've seen only a couple of episode with her so far, but when it's airing it always puts a smile on my face because my mother is always happier when there's "the young Morse detective", as they call the show here in my country, on TV.

Same here, OP. When I first heard they were going to do an Inspector Morse prequel series, I shook my head and thought it was going to be a lousy attempt to exploit a famous show/character. But Endeavour really surprised me in a good way. They really put thought into capturing the same feel, filling in characters' backstories. It was lovely.
