(Anonymous) 2023-04-20 03:27 am (UTC)(link)So Walker beheading a dude who was a member of a terrorist cell that *just* killed his BFF after blowing up buildings all over Europe is... not a deal breaker for me?
I thought they were going to go somewhere interesting that his problem was he killed a guy *where people could see* and then we'd reckon with the damage we see in every action scene. But NOPE! Murder is bad. When the audience can see the victim. That time Steve brained a guy and pitched him over the side of a ship? (100% fatal I promise) Nah that's fine. He was technically working for Fury to uncover the first traces of Hydra but fuck it, I didn't see his face.
And then the show seems to realize this because he's paling around with Bucky in the last episode. Like, what the fuck? What are you aiming for!?
I want him to either be a good guy doing his best but totally screwed over by the system putting him in places he shouldn't be. OR! An asshole who gave into rage and grabbed power with both hands and stepped over bodies to get it. Honestly, I'd even have preferred it if the show *tried* to depict one of these things but failed!
But no, yeah, I love this show in 30 second to 5 minute chunks. When I try and string those chunks together I get absolute nonsense.
