Does anybody really care that deeply if you don't watch their recced media?

I would love more of my friends to get into House of the Dragon, but they don't seem interested, so, okay?

I like it when people at least give stuff a try, but I have no expectation that anyone will actually like any of the stuff I like.

I knew one person who was very, very pushy about people watching shows they liked, to the point that they would bug everyone they knew anytime they spoke to watch xyz and could never take a 'not really interested' for an answer. But they were also pushy and lacked social boundaries in other ways so it was more of a symptom of that than them caring about media on it's own.

Otherwise most people I've met have never really cared if I get to a thing or not. If I do that's great and we can chat about it, if not then they just leave me be.

I can seem to find at least one ship for everything I see/experience even a little bit of, even I don’t like it. So I can’t personally relate.

But I do think it’s understandable to not have anything like a ship for something you’re not passionate about at best, and actively dislike at worst. If you’ve been pushed into it especially, I can see not feeling any attachments to any characters, and feeling resentment for the whole experience.

I mean it's possible to enjoy something without shipping?!
