the point is to make more money by appealing to horny men who wouldn't otherwise buy a product that doesn't feature female nudity. it's annoying because the marketing scheme is so obvious.

IDK I often get the vibe that it's less a conscious calculated attempt to market stuff, and more that the people who are making it just are horny themselves so it's author appeal.
