I think there's more people out there than anyone realizes that don't particularly care for Suki. They just aren't that vocal about it. =/

I don't think so. There are more people who don't like her, apart from the ones who have already said that they don't like the character. Maybe they are fearful of sharing their opinions, since fandom seems to have a boner for her :s

There is nothing wrong with disliking a character. (Although I disagree with you that Suki is a Mary Sue, she hardly has enough screentime or attention paid to her to warrant that label). It is bashing on a character and then hating on people who do like her that is assholish and incredibly stupid.

I don't care how much you dislike a character, most of the time they don't warrant a lot of the insults focus of hate that fandom sometimes gives them.

I... What? I mean, not liking a character is fine. But trying to label a character a Mary-Sue when she doesn't have nearly enough attention and SUPAH POWAHS to warrant the accusation is pretty ridiculous. And no, mentioning her acrobatics in the last season will not work. She was introduced in the third episode of the series as a warrior with martial arts training. Bryke finally allowing her to flex that muscle is not making her a Mary-Sue; it's finally giving a character a chance to prove that she is what she was billed as.

I'm late to the party, so I'll just sit back and nod with the people saying, "How's that? She wasn't really there that much."

And it's not like she was master of multiple bending techniques, either. All the kids (debatably barring Zuko) in Avatar are skilled to the point of bordering on prodigy in their given art, so if your beef with Suki is that she can kick ass and take names with the rest of them... I'm kind of not seeing it. If it's about the Sokka pairing, still not seeing it (and I'm not even a Sukka shipper, really).

Well, hell to the yes on that. I am one of those few people who think she is a Mary Sue. Mary Sues don't need a whole amount of chapters to be spotted. I happen to believe Katara is another one, just more shamelessly than Suki is or will ever be. Suki screamed Mary Sue to me since she reappeared out of nowhere and for plot holes reasons. Then they made yet another star appearance due to plot needs again, where, in my opinion she was not needed.

I feel as you feel, OP. And well, as long as you don't insult people who like that character, it's OK to express your feelings about her. Not everybody likes her, and you have right to share your opinion.
