I know. They went so well together. He gave her the respect she deserved.

I don't really get what Harry/Hermione shippers have to do with this, but I'm glad you like your ship?

Also, people get to like non-canon ships without being (1) angry with canon or even (2) surprised by canon.

I kind of wish it had ended with her and Victor getting together...

I agree. They were really great together.

I thought they were all right together. Certainly not my favorite, but it was all right.

It always surprises me when people like them together, though. I'm okay with just about any pairing, but I was kind of under the impression that JKR tried to make Viktor/Hermione, Harry/Cho, and Ron/Lavender as [reasonably] unappealing as possible.

I really liked Ron/Lavender, though, to be honest. It was silly but kind of stupidly cute. While it was obvious it wasn't going to work out, I was kind of bummed about it anyway, so I see where you're coming from.

Really? I always thought she portrayed Harry/Ginny in just as silly a light as Harry/Cho, and I shipped both. I just thought Harry was terrible at relationships. Plus Viktor and Hermione were both really happy together and then broke up because of the long distance and Ron/Lavender was pretty much a regular first relationship imo, I didn't think any of the portrayals were particularly negative. I mean maybe Ron dated Lavender for the wrong reasons, but they were happy for a while and then they weren't which is typical with 16 year olds.

I shipped it so hard. I don't mind Ron/Hermione, but something about Victor/Hermione made me go 'Yes!'
I think it was the fact that he was all shy about asking her out, despite being super famous and talented. ♥ Bless.

Viktor was just enough raw manliness for Hermione's awesome to contend with, I do so agree. It is my canon that and after Ron and her got together, on nights he just couldn't perform or when she just got so Hungry for Hungary she couldn't help it she totally helped herself to some of that. And Ron let her with pride because OMG my gf is so awesome Viktor Krum wants her.

You may be able to tell I do not take shipping or pairings in this fandom very seriously.

I think Viktor's a way better partner for her than Ron, as much as I love that ginger. They would've made hideous, unattractive, smart and good at quidditch babies.

Speaking as Harry/Hermione fan I would have LOVED a Viktor/Hermione ending. ANYTHING would be better then Ron/Hermione.

Oh dude, totally. Viktor/Hermione and Harry/Luna were my big favourites toward the end of the series. Something about how Krum actually seems to respect Hermione's intellect and her need for quiet time endeared that pairing to me more than Ron/Hermione.

I kinda preferred them too... Ron/Hermione was just awkward to me, even with all the setup. She had way more chemistry with Victor, I think.

I kinda love them too. Ron's reactions were so funny it made it worth it. "Ruddy pumpkinhead!" made me fall on the floor. And he (Krum) really seemed to care about her, and it was cute when he showed up at the wedding...aww.

Don't know what H/Hr has to do with it. As someone who shipped both you can imagine my disappointment. LOL. But yeah. Viktor/Hermione was so cute and had such potential.

V/H was initially cute and amusing, but it got old to me by the end of the fourth book. It was nice to see that someone else really and truly appreciated Hermione's company and respected her, but Viktor's infatuation seemed be more of added conflict than ship material, to me. I saw pretty much no chemistry in his interaction with Hermione and it seemed like Hermione got caught up more in the sake of having a relationship than genuinely liking Viktor, but then she got over it.

I liked Victor/Hermione way more than I ever liked Harry/Hermione. I mean, can't two characters just be friends instead of shipping them just because they happen to be of the opposite sex? I think Victor probably treated her better than Ron did--he was a bit of a douchebag towards her, and even now, I kinda prefer that she'd stayed with Victor. *shrugs* What's done is done--it's just a book :]
