MASH. What an amazing show. I almost gave a few times when Frank Burns was still on.

I previously got fed up with the Jess/Nick and Schmidt/Cece stuff and abandoned it, but just did a full series rewatch and that show is so dang good. It has it's meh moments but overall definitely worth it to stick with it.

Babylon 5. Season 5 is a little weaker, but it is still amazing.

Buffy. Doctor Who, so far. All the Star Treks. ATLA. Stargate: SG1 (season 9 and 10 are weaker but still good, and I love the final episode and movies).

I broke my rule last year and watched an in-progress TV show. Totally paid off for KinnPorsche.

HBO Chernobyl. The start of it is grim and miserable. It keeps on being grim, but boy does it pay off. I stuck with it because I was on a 15-hour flight and there was nothing else I wanted to watch.

Halt And Catch Fire.

I loved it from the get-go, but every season was better than the last, and in the end I think it might be my favorite show. Ever. I mean, there are five or six shows that would make the running for my favorite show of all time, but it's definitely one of them, and I feel a level of, like, reverent tenderness for it that's kind of unmatched for me.

Kipo

Kipo and the age of the Wonderbeasts. It's a kids cartoon and the wait between seasons felt like forever, but it was so worth it. What a great show with a cohesive story that is good and great characters and it and wraps up so satisfyingly.

I think both seasons of American Vandal were hilarious and a fantastic send-up of true crime docs. And then Netflix cancelled it, of course.

One of my favorite shows ever. Netflix sucks ass.

Mr Robot
Seems like the only one on F!S who liked this show, but ouch does it pays of in season 4

Schitt's Creek. I watched the first few episodes and found the family really obnoxious at first. Then I picked it up again a few months later and loved it by the end of season 1.

I watched Superstore when I was pregnant and needed a comfort show to get me through, but I actually really enjoyed it by the end.

Same with JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, lol.

Ohh, hard same on Schitt's Creek. I absolutely hated the first several episodes. I couldn't fathom how the show had so many fans, when it was one of the most aggravating, obnoxious things I'd ever watched.

If it wasn't for the fact that someone whose taste I trust loved it, I never would've stuck with it.

It took me a lot longer to love it, though. I would say it took all of S1 for me to feel like I didn't completely hate it. Like, I still found it wildly annoying, but there were also points where I kiiind of liked it a little. I think it took until the end of S2 for me to be like, "Huh, I actually like it now," and then somewhere in the last couple seasons it became, "Wow, I fully love it, what a great show!"

Star Trek TNG. It had a rough couple of seasons, but I'm glad I stuck with it. It turned out to be gold.

Mad Men

I thought season 3 dragged a bit and thought of giving up the show once the season ended but daaaaaaaaamn that final episode was *chef's kiss*

I get why people don't find Mad Men interesting but IMO people are missing out on a timeless show. The echos of Mad Men will continue for decades IMO. The show speaks so sharply about the false promise exceptionalism and the lies we as individuals present to the world.

I was originally really put off by the end of S1 of The OA. I thought it was a one-season show, and I misread what it was going for with the ending. I ended up feeling like I'd wasted my time with the whole season--even though I'd actually been into it most of the way through.

But time passed, S2 came out, and eventually I got curious and decided to give S2 a try. And I ended up really liking it and realizing that I'd been wrong about S1. That made it a real bummer that the show didn't get the third season it had always been planned to have, and was left on a cliffhanger. But I'm still glad I gave it another shot. It was a really unique and vivid show. Not perfect by any means, but definitely interesting.

Word of Honor
Usually, Chinese dramas overwhelm me with their length but I managed to watch this all the way through (though with some fast forwarding, admittedly) and I have to say I actually liked some of the changes better than the story in the novel. My main reason for being glad to have stuck with it is not the main ship though, but rather the Xie Wang/Scorpion King character. He is such a delight in the drama (especially commpared to the weirdly bland nonentity the character was in the novel). Just for that, it was worth slogging through the show.

Chucky. It does not take itself seriously, at all, and it's fun.

Julie and the Phantoms. Great characters and music. Loved the whole ghost afterlife thing. Fuck Netflix for cancelling it. It was delightful.

Yellowjackets. I'm so intrigued by the mystery. And it's got Juliette Lewis.

Seconding Chucky! It's the perfect balance between (comic) horror and just plain fun and it's a perfect treat for a old Chucky fan such as me. Personally I think it's the best TV show on air right now!
Only Barry comes near the fun I'm having with Chucky.

I'm going to watch Yellowjacket sometimes in the future and I'm kind of hyped. :D

Angel. Season 4 was absolutely the worst. Best thing the show ever did was retcon that whole season out of reality. Loved the finale way, way more than Buffy's.
