Are they still a thing? I recently made a DW account and feel rather lonely, but the only friending communities I've been able to find have been rather dead.

I once accidentally found the professional art page for a fanartist in one of my fandoms years ago, she got asked if she did pro work once(I didn't ask) and she said yes but she kept her accounts separate for personal reasons. Well I was bumbling about on a professional portfolio site, as I used to use it myself, and I found art that was an exact match for her style and used the same watermark(different names, and it had her real name on this site as this was the done thing there). I never said anything or told anyone because I wanted to respect her privacy in fandom. The site ended up dying a few years later anyway so I have no idea where she is now, fandom or professional-work wise.

So sometimes it just kinda happens, lol.

FS used to do a friending même! I wasn't around for it (likely in it's heyday) but I'd see them when I check the archives. Hmm. I think I'll check out the friending meme anon above posted. I kinda want to get active on this site too.
