Like, so much of the Murdoch Mysteries fandom on tumblr (such as it is) loves Gillies.

I, personally, do not-- I think they should have quit while they were ahead with him and it got kind of implausible, and it sort of took the shine off him, but like... I absolutely loved his first episode, and I thought his next couple appearances were still solid and enjoyable, I just loved him more when he was the manipulative homme fatale for his classmate, and the fact that they killed the other guy off but kept bringing Gillies back just brought him further and further away from what I enjoyed about him.

I know some people were highkey excited about him planting a kiss on Murdoch, I just wanted him to seduce another random guy into committing murders on his behalf.

Yeah, I liked the whole Leopold and Loeb thing in the original episode and I just didn't think any of the subsequent episodes lived up to the first one.

Aww, it's so nice to see a Murdoch secret.

Gillies was a fun character, even if he did outstay his welcome a little bit. It got kind of silly where he was concerned. Still, I liked him more than Eva Pearce.
