second of all, gee wish I had your problembs, since I'm in GI and ship Lumine with some guys and get a lot of flack for it for "Reasons"

Why is gen and slash okay to ship but not het? I get why people are resistant to certain ships but the way this secret is worded just isn't clicking with my brain. Maybe I'm just tired.

You do you. I can't think of a single het ship in GI that I'd personally prefer over a m/m or f/f one but /shrug different tastes and all.

Ah, if I were you I wouldn't worry about your identity because of this. It's not like Genshin can add characters you like to every other media you consume, so "I'm a slash fan" will keep covering 99% of what you like and want when you're dealing with people in any other fandom. And besides, you have every right to keep details of your personality to yourself if you want to.

I'm old enough to remember when people would try to claim you were committing some sort of sexual offense against canon by slashing characters at all, by shipping characters from a G-rated canon, by shipping characters who were canonically dating or married to someone else, et cetera. None of those arguments ever made the slightest impression on me. So now, if the Wheel of What's Forbidden in your particular friends group has rolled around to Thou Shalt Not Het Ship ... I don't think you have to care. It's just fandom wank, and always was.

I kind of feel you on this, OP. I shipped entirely het for my first few years in fandom, but then when I finally did make the jump to slash, I basically never looked back. For over a decade all my OTPs were M/M and I'd started to think I may never have another M/F ship again. So when a het ship basically reached out and grabbed me by the throat a couple months ago, I was genuinely shocked at myself, like, "Wait, hang on, I thought we didn't do this anymore!"

Don't listen to the haters anon. Whatever works for you. It's fine to like any character, and any type of dynamic, and if there is something specifically about the female Genshin characters that worked for you, then there's nothing wrong with enjoying it.
My first het ship was... Made in Abyss. I realised I can only ship het if the male character is extremely overpowered by the female one. A lot of people would judge me for liking something so porny and problematic, but so what. I'm having my fun in my little corner of the internet.

Like, so much of the Murdoch Mysteries fandom on tumblr (such as it is) loves Gillies.

I, personally, do not-- I think they should have quit while they were ahead with him and it got kind of implausible, and it sort of took the shine off him, but like... I absolutely loved his first episode, and I thought his next couple appearances were still solid and enjoyable, I just loved him more when he was the manipulative homme fatale for his classmate, and the fact that they killed the other guy off but kept bringing Gillies back just brought him further and further away from what I enjoyed about him.

I know some people were highkey excited about him planting a kiss on Murdoch, I just wanted him to seduce another random guy into committing murders on his behalf.

I just can't agree with this secret. And I can't really put it into words *why*, except that I think, after everything that happened in season 1, it was kind of natural for the kids to scatter a bit; to just be overwhelmed and to be pulled into (willingly or not), other roles for a while.

I liked that we got a whole episode for each character; they were all good, but I cried buckets during Willie Jack's ep, holy crap. That scene in the prison? DAMN.

I've been hunting around online, and found this interview, and I think the actor's interpretation and explanation feels really spot on, concerning Elora's actions.
