And what muppet?

I'm much more a fan of keeping only one human, but if I were to have only one Muppet it would have to be Rose on Titanic being replaced with Miss Piggy.

Kermit as Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I'm torn on Tony Stark being replaced with Animal - just emotional yelling and rock music, or Grover - because Super Grover for Iron Man.

Hmmmmm. How about Palpatine in TROS with a muppet? Don't care which one, it would still be a better movie.

Any movie, replace the most annoying character with Beaker.

Honestly, I think I would like Dark Crystal more if Fizzgig was replaced by Beaker.

JarJar Binks with Rolf the Dog. I think the juxtaposition of changing from JarJar's over the top dramatic way of speaking to Rolf's calm chill delivery is hilarious. Idk just struck me as very funny.

Phantom of the Opera movie, the Phantom with Gonzo.

That’s fine, but then why did you feel the need to participate in the thread instead of avoiding it? I wouldn’t answer a question about something I don’t like, such as Supernatural, unless the question was about not liking it. Not everyone will like the Muppets, there’s nothing wrong with that. I just don’t get the point of this response. (You have the right to say what you want ofc, that’s not what I’m saying.)

Because they wanted to be part of the discussion. I mean, they're talking muppets so it's still on topic.

For diversity of opinion and to hang out on f!s in the general comments a bit. I don't share stuff about my offline life here if it's unrelated to fandom, and the hypothetical about aliens didn't call to me. And I couldn't remember anything that I wanted to start a thread about, tonight.

Also, I get the impression that when everyone who doesn't like something politely avoids it, people who trot it out at the fandom water cooler can sincerely forget we exist. Leading to overbearing pronouncements like "if you don't like Neville Longbottom, you've got no soul," or claims that it's a unanimously agreed-upon fact that Jim Henson was a genius.

I appreciate your clarifying that it was a real question, as opposed to a "why can't you be quiet?"

NAYRT - Obviously they wanted to participate because this is a social comm and participating is fun. Diversity of opinion is also fun, and I appreciate them coming in to represent the "nah to muppets" crowd.

Frankly, I find this whole "positivity only" attitude kind of toxic and suffocating. If AYRT had been aggressive and rude about their dislike of muppets, then I would understand your comment, but all they did was express a perfectly valid opinion that related directly to the topic being discussed. It's your attitude that feels negative to me, not theirs. They just wanted to participate by civilly sharing their opinion; meanwhile responses like yours actively seek to shut down legitimate participation.

Hmm, there's Rowlf in The Fabulous Baker Boys as one of the Baker brothers, or Miss Piggy in Legally Blonde as Elle, or Beaker in Jurassic Park as a scientist, or Animal in Animal House (naturally) as Bluto, or Statler and Waldorf (sorry, they're a package deal) in Trading Places as the Duke brothers, or Kermit in Edward Scissorhands as Edward, but I think I'll go with Sweetums in Galaxy Quest as a monster on a random planet who isn't really a monster, just someone who wants to join the crew.

I would watch ANY of these, but Rowlf in the Fabulous Baker Boys or Statler and Waldorf as the Duke brothers are my top two here...

I would also watch Bean the bunny in Home Alone.

I'd replace Kylo Ren with Cookie Monster, but only in TLJ.

Hulk with Cookie Monster. Bruce Banner is played by the puppeteer.

Jurassic Park except all the scientific exposition is given by Beeker.

Persuasion except Ms. Eliot is played by Miss Piggy.

Replace every character Mark Wahlberg has played with Gonzo. Not because I like Gonzo. Because Mark Wahlberg sucks.
