...that tomorrow the Voyager 2 space probe sends back to NASA, not its usual regular telemetry, but a Morse code message stating that it has been hacked by aliens and they will be arriving on Earth early next week. What happens next at NASA? Sure, the aliens say they come in peace, but they just hacked a space probe, and have learned English and Morse so they've obviously been watching us...

If it were up to me, I’d give them a chance. Antagonizing them might create a threat where there doesn’t have to be one. And even if their intentions are evil…what can they do to humanity that’s worse than what we do to ourselves these days?

I would first assume human pranksters, assuming anyone at NASA was dumb enough to publicize that it'd happened.

Then if aliens actually showed up I'd assume we were fucked, because despite interstellar travel and other tech more advanced than ours, they didn't realize that saying they'd hacked Voyager and would be stopping by ASAP would cause mass panic, like apocalyptic cult bs, and possibly friendly fire when the US military or whoever accidentally nuked another country, or a couple US states, by aiming for what they thought was an alien spaceship.

Or that we'd be fucked because they realized and didn't care, or didn't realize, but were murderous colonizing resource extracting shitheads just like the worst of humanity.

I'd buy weed and get high to wait for our alien overloads to come and either enslave or destroy us. Or maybe they come in peace and see how fucked up earth is and will shout "Pass!" as they orbit to a better universe.

I don't think I have the capacity at this moment to entertain the existential implications of this but I guarantee you people are going to try to make money/profit in some other way over this and the common rabble will have no control over what our govt officials will do/the corporations that fund them will decide to do to/with the aliens. They're clearly more advanced than us.
