One thing I've never got is the Star Wars fandom's insistence that there's a trio in each trilogy. OT has a trio only if you're actively excluding Chewbacca and the droids. PT has two duos, Anakin - Padme and Anakin - Obi-Wan, but there isn't that much of a relationship between Obi-Wan and Padme. And in ST, Poe was originally supposed to die early in the first movie so he definitely wasn't planned to be a part of any shape of a relationship, even without the mess of the last two movies.

I think a lot of it is people who are desperate for Finn and/or Poe to be more important than they actually were in the narrative.
