I don’t understand your secret. The series absolutely nailed the politics of the time, there’s nothing subjective about that. How that makes you feel is irrelevant to its legitimacy and legacy. It was set only a couple years before it was filmed and included more recent events. It was notable at the time for portraying both sides as culpable.
If you can’t appreciate it, then I can maybe see the point of your secret. But I’d wager that since you’re obviously not British or Irish, and didn’t witness the Troubles firsthand, it’s hardly surprising a forty year old mini series that contextualised contemporary news events didn’t resonate with you.
