I've done and felt the same. I recently found an old hard drive and was going through it and completely forgot how active I used to be - there were folders of LJ icons I made for various fandoms, artwork, even fic. I don't think I've created anything fannish for years. And my offline creativity is at a pretty low state as well. But it directly correlates to my lack of passion. I used to get so passionate and obsessed that I would be driven to creation, now I'm just like "meh that show was fun for a week."

Your secret inspired me to go look up Nina Simone and I just spent a good time reading her Wiki page. She lived an interesting (and troubled) life. I knew her popular tunes but nothing about her, so that was interesting. Thank you.

I was waiting for my lunch the other day and the cafe was playing "Mississippi Goddam" which is a fucking amazing song and starts out pretty jaunty to lure you in, but definitely not what I want to hear while waiting for my sandwich to be toasted.

Man, I find a lot of the silly-characters-who-come-in annoying, so I feel you there. I like when the mythical crew shows up just as themselves, I like plenty of the special guests they bring in, like it's fine when the format breaks from just Rhett and Link sitting at the desk alone, but the costume characters aren't fun for me.

I have no idea who this was but I was curious about the pronunciation so I looked them up. Never heard "weird" but they have a sort of inconsistent speech impediment. Sometimes their L's are off and sometimes their R's, but it's not every time.

Having a hard time buying the first part of this secret ("loathe thinking about things like algorithms and visibility") when the second part is the same "comments are payment, think of the poor exploited authors!!" fandom-as-a-service narrative that's filling every last social-media-obsessed corner of fandom these days.
