The worst part is I love Spike. He's one of my favorite characters, so I know the amount of love he gets in fandom. That's why this secret, if it's real, makes my teeth hurt. Because it's a lie. And an obvious lie at that.

This. So much this. I love Spike (though TBH I love im more as a villain). But he's totally adored by the fandom, massively woobified, and not remotely hated.

This isn't making sense to me. If it's real (as in, the secret poster is saying they're completely done with pretending to disapprove of this character for ideological reasons, in all sincerity), then why are you calling it a lie?
