It does nothing of the sort. I don't care if the OP is referring to years of frustrating conversations that they had with friends in real life and can't "prove" happened even if they wanted to, or just isn't the sort of person who grudge-saves links to posts that make them angry, or simply wants to hang out here instead of trying to find examples elsewhere and link to Spike-hate in the process. I believe them. I've been in fandom long enough to know that the people who gather on different platforms tend to develop fairly different consensus readings about characters and some of them can be punishing. And there've been people yelling about how anyone who didn't turn on Spike after the rape attempt is proving themselves a traitor to woman-kind since the damn episode came out. So, if Buffy's still something people talk about, I really doubt that ever went away.
