Sorry! I'm not a Star Wars fan myself, and most SW references whoosh over my head, so I thought you genuinely might not know the reference. I only know it because I know people who are fans.

Yeah, what I'm getting from poking around is that Liberation Day on the 5th was set because it was the actual day that the Netherlands were formally liberated, and then May 4th was chosen as the day for the remembrance ceremony because it happened to be the day before?
