I never went here but from the outside it always seemed like it had a very decent fandom at one time? Dead now of course.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It wasn’t a fandom I was into but some of my friends were, and it seemed fairly big at the time. Not…like SPN or MCU size, but I wouldn’t have called it small either.

I was in it at the time and I would say it was medium size, but didn't last long. It was a flash in the pan kind of fandom. And from what I can remember a lot was kinkfic. But it's been a minute so I may have forgotten the rest.

Hm, for me personally I would say "a lot of kinkfic" is a positive quality for a fandom, haha

I like an even mix lol I love my kinkfic but I also want character exploration and plotty fun stuff.

Yeah I've mostly been spoiled by fandoms, just falling into a lot of larger fandoms and spoiled for choice in fic and even vids. That's probably why it never felt like White Collar was all that large or prolific.

I was in the fandom back in the days and I would say it had some good fic and vids, actually. It just wasn't Supernatural or MCU-sized.

Yeah, I had several good writers on my flist who were into White Collar. Might be worth looking at older fics on AO3, since AO3 has been around long enough for this fandom to be posting on it at the time the show ran. There was a ton of hurt/comfort, Neil whump, and Neil/Ellie/Peter OT3 fic as I recall.

Did Matt get cast in something Batman related or how did that become so widespread? I assume the concept is that Neal is somehow related to the Batfam, possible a former Robin?

Apparently Matt was fancast as a few characters and fans went with it. So most of the crossovers I've seen have "Batman character was thought dead but really he's been undercover as Neal Cafferey the whole time" type of plot. I'm not super familiar with the Batman stuff, but I think Dick Grayson and Jason Todd are the names I've seen.

I don't know if it is related at all, but he has done voice work for some animated DC projects - as Clark Kent|Superman, Barry Allen|The Flash, and Larry Trainor|Negative Man

I know that maybe 10-15 years ago some people liked the idea of him playing grown-up Dick Grayson, but that was just fancasting.

Coming from the Batfam fandom side of things, I’m not crazy about them either. I tried a couple just out of curiosity, but I just couldn’t buy Dick Grayson (or Jason for that matter) as Neal Caffrey at all.

OP here - I was curious about the other side. The few I've clicked on just seem overall kind of bad, so not great for the Batfam side either but I don't know that fandom at all so maybe that was standard fare.

My experience in that fandom was that the h/c fics were superb, but that was I read. I have no idea what was happening outside of that.
