Yeah! Won't anyone think of the poor millionaire royals??

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
You do realise that criticising members of the royal family for stupid gossipy things like whether or not they show up at certain events takes away from coverage of things we should actually criticise them for, like hiding the true amount of their wealth and property?

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
You're right, because it's a well known fact that a famous person can only be criticized for one thing, ever. Once you use up your free criticism shot, that's it. They can commit really bad crimes now and nobody can say anything!

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Truly, we need to focus more on the important issues like whether or not Meghan Markle is really Karl Jenkins' alter ego or if Princess Kate slouches. Surely, that's more important than Prince Andrew still being allowed out in public, or the role of the monarchy in perpetuating cultural and literal genocide.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, that's exactly what the secret says. It says that all of that silly stuff is way more important than Prince Andrew's gross crimes or the overall crimes of the monarchy. You did a great job of quoting the OP with great accuracy and precision as well as good faith.

Keep on digging that hole, sweetie. You can call it your coronation hole and everyone will toast you with their quiche and cheer at what a good little monarchist you are.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
In practice, criticizing Meghan functions as a defense of the rest of the royal family like 70% to 80% of the time

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! Because if you're anti-Meghan, you're automatically pro-monarchy and wish to protect them forever and ever. You cannot possibly be critical of both of those parties at the same time because it would cause a huge rupture in the space time continuum.

How goes those reading comprehension classes? Cause you really missed the mark on this one.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
I would just like to draw your attention to the words "in practice" and "70% to 80% of the time"

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
Asspulled statistics that paint a fictional majority of people as supporting a thing you deem "bad" are usually used as a strawman to dismiss any criticism so...

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, this isn't what AYRT implied at all, and AYRT is right. Have fun being mad about it, though!

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 08:36 am (UTC)(link)
This is a truly pathetic display by you. You’re attempting to be passive aggressive and defensive to everyone who calls out your nonsense, but it’s not working out for you.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'm anti Harry and Meghan and anti monarchy. If they actually wanted to give up their titles and privileges it would be different but they don't because like the rest of the royal family they're narcissistic, snobby and entitled.

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
That's a reasonable position to take but I do not believe that the average anti-Harry and Meghan person is also anti-monarchy.

And certainly, the person writing the secret - who based on the secret was paying close attention to the ceremony and thought that Princess Anne's hat was awesome - is not statistically likely to be anti-monarchy.

I wonder if they'll ever try to get Harry a US Citizenship. You know you have to renounce your titles to get it.

(Is he on a green card? I'm fascinated to know what Harry's immigration status is. Dirty illegal coming here and taking our...um....well he must be taking something!)

(Anonymous) 2023-05-17 11:14 am (UTC)(link)
Actresses, he's taking your actresses. That is what everyone is complaining about.

And while you have to renounce things like titles and allegiances to get US citizenship, there is no law on the UK's books to say that they have to accept him saying those renunciation. In fact it needs a law to be passed in Parliament for that to be the case. So him saying "I renounce... etc" is just as much meaningless national theater(theatre?) for America as the Coronation is for the UK.

I think someone may have misled you about how much pomp is involved in a naturalization ceremony.
