Sorry to go back to old commenting but..yanno...I think they forgot to make the 156 thread.

OP, why don't you just friend them? Or say, "You seem cool! Mind if I friend you?" And then if you just neeeeeed them to friend you back and they don't, you can defriend them. There, problem solved, and nobody had to be creepy.

It just feels so... forward, I guess. (Lol, I sound like I should be asking their father's permission or something.) I can hold a conversation fine, but I'm too socially awkward to try to friend them.

Yeah, oopsie on the missing thread.

I think that everyone does that. That's how else would we end up friending each other. We talk to someone, find they are cool and then do it!

I feel the same, OP, but I think it's a weird social anxiety problem I have or something, because I feel like I'm being a creeper even trying to make RL friends, let alone online ones. :(

I have to agree....I get VERY anxious normally in social situations, and I always want to make friends but the anxiety and desire to be friends with someone makes me seem creepy O_o;; And I'm the farthest thing from!
