And now I'm recalling how NBC managed to tie Empty Nest, The Golden Girls, Nurses and one other sitcom (I think; can't remember the name) all together with a megaplot about an incoming hurricane. It worked on child me because I grew up in Florida and was excited to see my state represented in such a way. WHy that's the thing I remember is a mystery.

Golden Palace, is the one you are forgetting. It was the Golden Girls sequel they made after Bea Arthur left. Blanche bought a hotel, or maybe inherited it-I can't quite remember. It wasn't very good.

I don't think it would have been included as it took place after the hurricane episode concluded.

And agreed Palace could have been better. I'll never forgive them for what they did to Miles and Rose. Cheech was probably the best part of the show.

Sounds like it was a big deal at the time. And I remember the Golden Girls had other episodes featuring Empty Nest characters, so to see a plot continue into the other shows was probably pretty cool to see.

Wasn't Nurses a spin-off of Empty Nest which was a spin-off of Golden Girls? I miss spin-offs.

Maybe Walter & Emily was the other show - it didn't last long (13 eps), but was from the same producers as The Golden Girls, Empty Nest, and Nurses
