Unfortunately I get you. I overheard a racist remark at my job the other day. This in itself would be bad enough but the comment came from a higher-up who was showing the place to new people and it was pretty obvious that I (white-passing) + two black people who were working nearby were listening. We deal with Law incidentally. I was like "...what the FUCK did I just hear?" but I am rather new there and not personally close to any of the people involved so I didn't say anything I just short-circuited in disbelief not knowing what to do honestly. I just wasn't expecting it, much less from someone who seemed decent at first.
