It’s disingenuous to think Anthony Rapp wouldn’t stand to gain from his accusation. He had steady work throughout his career but was far from famous. ST: Discovery was a huge second chance for him, it was the (No pun intended) flagship series of a fledgling streaming service, and the show was getting torn to shreds by the target audience at the time he made the accusation. He’s been a household name ever since and he has gotten paid work as a direct result of accusing Kevin Spacey.

None of this means he wasn’t a victim who has made a valid accusation. I absolutely believe him but I also think it’s incredibly naive to assume the circumstances around his accusation wouldn’t be scrutinized.
