I think on one hand, forget what anyone else may think. How does it make you feel? Both on the positive and negative side? Feel your feelings OP. I personally think you aren't as lame as you may think. Everyone has a lot going on.

I personally feel like I enjoy romances dipicted in media a lot, but still working out on whether I want it IRL. I'm working very hard on my Asexuality and what labels I might want to apply to myself.

I know for certain that I really creating romantic stories in my head with OCs as well as with characters in fandoms I love.
In my fan works I draw A LOT of inspiration from romances I love (especially the big kissing scene or love confession).

It appeals to you for a reason. Enjoy it while you still enjoy it! Whether there is anything worth digging deeper into, you will get there one day, but in the meantime maybe it's just something that brings you a lot of joy/comfort and there is nothing lame about that. <3

For my canon OTP, I go back and watch just the sex scenes sometimes. I've seen the handjob in the bathroom scene waaay more often than I've seen the episode it's in. 😏

I find this kind of adorable actually. Personally I hate watching people kiss, but especially actors. But we all have our Things.

As someone who is Old and has never had a relationship due to fear (and honestly just a big dose of "it's not important right now") and finding myself with the very real prospect of living the rest of my life alone, let me just say you should try and decide if you really do want a relationship and if the answer is even a Maybe then tackle that fear now. It's hard, but time flies and the sooner the start the sooner you'll be out there kissing your own OTP.

I'm not judging you, anon. Sometimes I wonder if I owe the fact that I've had relationships to the fact that "appealing, but scary" does it for some people. Because I'm really not good at being likable, even when I want to be.

I definitely rewatch shippy scenes for my OTPs on repeat, especially when I first start shipping a new pairing. The scenes I rewatch aren't usually kissing scenes, but in some ways the fact that they maybe aren't even meant to be titillating just makes it feel stranger that I'm so into them, lol.

Honestly, I think repeatedly rewatching the "juicy parts" (which often means romantic or sexy parts) is more common than you think, OP. I mean, there's a reason that scenes like that are usually among the first to get uploaded to youtube, and tend to have a particularly high number of views. :P

The beast scenario is cute and funny and I can see why people would like it, but... IRL I think if I sat down to write this prompt, it'd feel too limiting. Making it someone's pet locks you in to a specific scenario. If he'd dialed it back a notch and just said that after the beast was dead, everyone noticed a detail that gave them pause and let writers figure out what that detail was and what it meant, that would give people more scope for an imaginative story. IMO.
