I feel like it would hit that uncanny valley territory and I would be disturbed by it.

Also, for the 'customized' films, I don't want all of that information collected - I don't like personalized ads even when they get it right (instead of being shown ads for farm equipment for six months because I was curious about how a thresher worked and looked it up once).

Do I want personalized media made just for me? Hell yes. Do I trust any company with the data needed for that? Fuck no.

NAYRT--yeah, part of me loves the idea of custom films, but honestly in my ideal world none of them would have AI generated scripts, because those would be adapted from my own fanfic and my favorite fanfics by other authors.

But I wouldn't want the actors who originally portrayed those characters to get ripped off, or AI generated backgrounds/sets/costumes/music to put creative professionals out of work.

And I would much rather have a world where no one had to work or be exploited just to live, made possible by automation, with everyone free to do the work they enjoy if they want to, or laze around having robots do everything if they don't, than a world where humans still suffer and die doing hard manual and menial labor and machines make art for pennies on the dollar.

This is a point I wish would get much more attention than it does, because I agree completely.

Agreed. And I don't need companies for any of that. I read and write for kink memes, and that's exactly what we're doing: getting ideas from each other and turning them into the stories that one person wants to see and another wants to write.

I get the impression that that's part of what Yuletide and a lot of other exchanges are about, too, though I'm less confident saying that because I've never participated in those.
