I mean, I still think the Wizard of Oz books are fun. Not exactly deep reading, but they are entertaining and enjoyable.

Many of the Goosebump books are also still fun. Same with many of the Star Wars EU books I enjoyed as a kid.

I have original hardcover copies of all the Oz books except the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, so I never actually read that one until I had hours to kill on the plane to Japan and a kindle. It was surprisingly faster than all the others, but yes they are pretty quick reads for a short burst of fun. there's still some sexism from the time period but honestly not as much as I remembered, so that was a relief.
