What new (for you) stuff are you getting into.

I've been watching it (and submitting secrets :P) and I started series 5...or the thalidomide series. Everything is me trying to decide if it is enough of a secret or not (like I don't really care about patsy and delia's relationship, but I love the Turner family to death).

I've been wanting to get into it for years but it seems so daunting. Are you just getting into the fandom or getting into playing?

The movie was so much fun!

Fandom right now. Just reading up on things that intrigue me. THings mentioned in the movie, lore off of that, and villains mostly so far. Spent a bunch of time on the wiki and on tvtropes.

Super curious about any villain opinions you have!

Uh, so far really fascinated particularly by by Szass Tam, Tiamat, Orcus, and Vecna. Fascinated by various evil gods/magicians/demons who modify themselves in order to increase their power. Basically fascinated by how religion and belief works. Still learning how the whole power balance system works. And how various supernatural characters shift up and down in power and in and out of the story.

I think it is cool that you have these super powered villains (and other characters) but then ordinary characters created by game makers and players can actually interact with, challenge, and even win against these massively powerful characters.

Nice! Yeah all of the god / demi-god / demon / evil wizard stuff is extremely cool, and the crossover between magic and religion and all these different forms of power, and then the fact that your characters can interact with them. And also like... the fact that sometimes gods die! And get replaced by other gods! It's super cool.

I've just started book two of Naomi Novik's Scholomance series. Overall, I really like it. I find Novik's storytelling really engaging and interesting, and I'm looking forward to finishing the series. But I'm also a bit ambivalent, because I don't particularly like the protagonist. I don't know if I dislike her, per se, so much as I'm frustrated by the way the narrative handles her role in the story.

I don't mind that she's snarky and rude, but I feel like the narrative itself basically validates her about everything and gives her almost every important contribution to the plot. Other characters contribute, but usually only after she's snapped about how stupid everyone is being, led them all to the necessary understanding of the situation, and spat out the basics of what they need to do.

There's this new Hulu show called Saint X that's a murder mystery that I've somehow gotten super into. It's based on a book, which I've known about since it came out, but the reviews aren't great so I haven't read it. I've gotten pretty sucked into the show, so I've thought of reading it, but according to people I've talked to that have read the book, the show's pretty different so I'm not sure about the book. I can't wait for the finale next week, though!

Also, I recently watched a show called Jury Duty that was hilarious.

And I'm not sure how much I'm really into it, but I watched the first three episodes of this new show called Platonic. There's something just slightly off about it that keeps me from completely loving it, but it's entertaining enough.

I really want to find some good books to read. The last few I've read have ranged from awful to meh, so I'd like to find something I really enjoy. I think it's because I keep trying to be branch out and read different genres instead of just sticking to what I know I like, but when I do that I always end up disappointed.

I've finally hit fuck-it and am slowly getting into the furry fandom. I've never really got into it before, but sort of picked up stuff in passing from various fan spaces and through acquaintances over the past 15 years in fandom (one that sticks out the most was a person called WhiteDog2 waaay back in the day who I had originally followed for her Naruto and Death Note fanworks on LJ/Deviantart, but then started doing her own furry comics before she had moved onto furaffinity when I last heard from her).
Had done the 'drawing favorite character's fursona' a few times, but now been doodling ideas for my own and a few little original stories stuff.

The only down side is that the most recommended places to go to in terms of fandom has been Deviantart which has turned into an unusable dumpster fire that's getting worse with every update. I finally caved in and had a look at furaffinity, then u-turned at the fetish art on the front page - and everywhere else seems to involve apps I can't access because my tablet is too out of date to download the apps like Telegram and Amino. Still, I'm aving fun amusing myself and looking through videos on Youtube.

I'm not a furry myself, but I am an Ursula Vernon/T. Kingfisher fan, and she won her first Hugo award for Digger, which is a furry comic. She also used to sell her furry art back in the day before she made it big (or, well, quit the day job big, not Stephen King big) as an author. Digger just recently had it's second print omnibus kickstarter (copies from the first were listed on Amazon for $1,500 before that) but the whole thing is still online to read for free at Diggercomic.com.

And there's no fetish porn in Digger, heh.
