I’m so grateful that Tim Roth wasn’t cast as Severus Snape. I love Alan Rickman’s work and he was great, but I don’t develop automatic crushes on his characters. Thankfully, I was able to stay comfortably uninterested in the later books and movies rather than getting involved in the discourse. I fear that if it had been Tim Roth, I would have felt dragged into that whole mess, with an unfortunate sympathy for Snape.

I feel this. Unfortunately, most of the fandoms that I have been in previously had about 1-4 long fics max with the rest being either short fics or unfinished WIPs (although I'm in no position to complain since I'm the one writing short fics in my current fandom now, because I have no patience to write anything longer than 6,000 words :'D)

Yeah, but this is also a series where reincarnation is a thing. Surely, ONE Link could be a girl, right? It's what I've wanted for ages (insert, Little Girl Me wanted to be the hero of the Zelda game self-insert, etc etc) and I still want this.

Better yet, I wish Zelda would let us customize our Link so they can be whoever we want them to be. Again, reincarnation! I feel this is justified!

I didn't care for Rossi when he first joined the team, but I feel that was a deliberate writing decision. What I loved was that he grew as a character until he did vibe and fit in really well with everyone else. I ended up liking him way more than Gideon, who never felt truly integrated with the other members on the same level. No idea how that might've changed in later seasons, though... but nice to see that they let Joe Mantegna revert to his salt and pepper look, which suits him well, IMO.

My favorite fandoms for long fics are Sherlock Holmes (ACD version) and the Hobbit (book version). Lovely, long, plotty stories with wonderful characterization and settings.
