Huh? What do you mean by run to her defense? Do you mean in fandom? Because from what I can tell people do like Beatrice, but if we readily accept her magic theory, then what's the point? We have to question everything about her, even her emotions, in order to generate the type of discussions Umineko brings. That's what makes it FUN.

But I still love Beato <3

No, I don't mind the anti-fantasy factions--I lean that way myself. I mean that I'm ridiculously defensive of her as a character, and hate it when people just want her to be an evil, cackling witch for Battler to beat down. It's a total irrationality on my part, not fandom's part.

No, people generally like Beato, they just like her for different reasons than I do, and it's hard for me to just sit still and let people have their own theories and perspectives on her. As I said above, totally irrational on my part, and it's just going to be harder for me when the series comes out.

Haven't played Umineko yet but dammit, I will before the anime comes out if it KILLS ME, but if this is anything like how I have to kill people who only know a little about Higurashi and go around blabbing that all the characters are always bat-shit insane, especially Mion...I think I feel for you. :|
