I disliked Godot too when I played the game. Still do; I think it was mainly (like the majority of people who dislike him, I think) the chauvinism. (And, for lack of a better word, I thought he was an arsehole) That said, I can understand why people would like him, given his role within the fifth case and his general character. But I'd have to still say that I never really understood all the hype about him.

I never understood all the hype about him either. When I finally played the game, I was disappointed.

It wasn't just the fact that he's a jackass. I just didn't find him very compelling at all.

And he bitched at Franziska, who is my favorite character, so that didn't help either.

He's a tremendous misogynist douche. I didn't really feel bad about what happened to him at the end of case four unless he actually died or something, which would be bad.

I mean, I hated Von Karma and Dahlia Gillespie with a burning passion, but neither of them got under my skin like Godot did.

I played all the games at once and didn't find fandom til afterward, so I didn't see any hype, but even so, I didn't like him much. After a while, I sort of reconciled myself with his character by incorporating a few bits of questionable fanon into my headcanon of him.

I had a friend who ADORED him, so I was excited when I got to him in the games. Man, I was disappointed. D:
