I don't watch the show but I would love to know what scene this is, as I'm in exactly the same boat as OP and could do with something uplifting :).

During the episode, there was a subplot about talking your way out of a ticket.

At the end, Ted is talking with Stella, saying that he wants his happy ending (the ending his best friends have) and she goes, "you know, I talked my way out of a ticket one. I was driving to my aunt's upstate and going about eight and this State Trooper pulled me over. He walked up to me and went, 'Young Lady, I have been waiting for you all day.' And I went, 'Officer, I got her as fast as I could.'" And then she tells Ted that his The One is out there and that she is coming as fast as she can.

Like, 90% of the awesomeness of the scene is in the acting, but the idea that whoever I'm supposed to be with is coming as fast as the universe can get him here helped me.

I loved that scene. I think I cried a little actually! I thought it was so touching without being cheesy, which is hard to come by on tv, let alone a sitcom. It was really comforting to hear.

Don't worry OP, they're coming to you as fast as they can. ;)

That was a really beautiful scene. I don't think I've ever loved Ted more than I did at that moment.

I loved that scene so much. It was really beautiful. It helped me out too, in a different way, because I'm really looking forward to marriage and all that– I identify with Ted in that I'm waiting for The One too (and I could see myself telling a girl I loved her on the first date and stealing her a blue french horn). But I'm also way too young to really be thinking about it. So, I don't know, seeing that scene makes it easier for me to wait.
