Eh, a lot of RPGs are still made in the 16-bit/2D style. I don't imagine it'll grab hordes of folks, but I don't see any reason why its looks would prevent new fans from getting into it. And age didn't keep folks born in the 2000s from playing games released in the 80s and 90s (and not just Final Fantasy or the Sonic the Hedgehog).

are there? I actually don't like the old pixel style, I was honestly hoping that the big anniversary announcement was full-on remakes, not remasters. that said, playing PS2 games in 2005 is not the same as the ridiculous gaming landscape of today. maybe I just see too much of console war fanboys griping about frame rates on their graphics cards to know what else is out there. I really do wish that the remasters will make new fans but I'm not holding my breath, especially since I don't trust Konami to decide to re-release the other 3 games in the series later.
