To be fair, when it comes to art, "They'd be hard to tell apart if they all had brown hair and eyes" is the exact reason for anime's weird hair and eye colors. That's an art problem and not a race problem, and if someone draws anime style they're more likely to be copying the conventions for anime than being racist.
