I think there are a few different reasons for this particular type of response.
(Anonymous) 2023-06-04 04:48 am (UTC)(link)2. The commenter may have misread or misinterpreted the secret to be derisively directed at people who like that something.
3. The secret maker inadvertently comes across as disdainful or questioning of people who like that something. For instance, "Why do people like this something? It's horrible," seems to imply that people who like it lack taste. Whereas this, "I don't really understand the appeal of this something," doesn't seem to hold any sort value judgement, but it does feel like it's asking for an explanation.
4. The commenter is genuinely offended that someone dislikes that something that they like. (Yes, it's weird, but there are some people who apparently never grew out of their egocentrism stage.)
