1) I'm always under the impression when a secret is along the lines of "I don't like X", it indicates they don't want to talk to others in a public way about that opinion. Hence, this is them sharing a secret.

2) I think anyone responding with the opposite opinion, so long as it's not overly defensive/accusatory/disrespectful, is within their right to respond? Fandom Secrets exists so we can share our secrets, and then to also discuss them, right?

I do get when someone misses the point entirely, but that's par for the course. We misinterpret people's words and intentions all the time, that's just human nature.

I work around this by not engaging if either the secret or comment thread are too divisive or I have no skin in the game.
